Did you once work for Metro Messenger or Capitol Cycle in Washington DC
Or know Lap Nguyen who worked for them?? If so please read....
While I know this is a national organization I also know a number of us live in the DC area, or used to anyway and I’d like to hear from anyone who used to work as a motorcycle messenger, and specifically those that worked for Metro Messenger Service or Capitol Cycle Corp. during those years they were co-located together in DC.
The reason I am looking for those folks is two fold, one because a friend and former Metro Messenger rider and I are looking to hold a reunion some time in August and would love to here from anyone who might be interested in coming.
Also because those that worked for those company’s or did any business with them may well remember Lap Nguyen, a mechanic who worked on BMW motorcycles for both those companies and then later went on to start a small independent shop in Alexandria VA. I just received word that he passed away and my friend and I would like to combine a possible Metro reunion with a wake to celebrate and remember Lap and the years we all knew him. He was an individual whom once you met, you would not be likely to forget.
So if you live, or once lived in the DC area from the early 70’s till now and knew Lap, or worked for either of those companies mentioned or know of someone who did I’d like to hear from you/them. You can PM me or send me an email to rocketman @ roadrunes.com
As to whether we can pull this off is anyone’s guess right now, but I figured I have to start somewhere and that would seem to first try to get an idea if we can contact enough folks, other than the few we still have connections with.
Thanks
Jeff
