Hi, all, what tool do i need to remove that axle? I do not see one in my tool kit. I bought this '05 used.

(your R12GS is not a G & F Bike but hopefully a moderator will move this to the Hexheads forum where it belongs)

You need a 22mm hex. A couple of do-it-yourself options are shown here (scroll down):

Your BMW dealer can sell you a hunk of 22mm hex stock that is used with a 22mm socket or wrench. I think the price is/was around $16, not too bad if you think of it as a tool rather than a hunk of hex stock.

Speaking of hex stock, the hardcore do-it-yourselfer can visit an industrial supplier such as McMaster-Carr and pick up some 7/8" hex stock in a variety of materials of your choosing (steel, stainless, aluminum...) You may have to shave off a few thousandths to fit the slightly-smaller 22mm hex opening.

Also try the hex side of a 13/16 spark plug socket. I stick a 6" long extension in mine the "backwards" way and then wrench it off
