Gillette to Paonia, anyone?

Anyone doing the MOA rally and then the TOR? I put together what I think will be a great ride between the rallies. I can email Garmin (Mapsource) route. We could also ride together.

I am doing both I hope to camp 3 nights was hoping to camp yellowstone, Teton then flaming gorge what are your plans

I have no specific overnight plans. My wife is traveling with me. Could camp or motel. My route is about 1000 miles. Montana (Chief Joseph Hwy) (Beartooth) (Grand Tetons) (Jackson Hole) (Flaming Gorge) et. If you have a Garmin w/Mapsource I'll send you the route.

I will be doing both rallies. I have a campsite reserved in Yellowstone for Sunday night. I will tour Yellowstone Monday morning, maybe including a short hike, then a fairly short ride through the Tetons to a campsite I have reserved at Freemont Lake, WY for Monday night. Tuesday night I have a reservation at the Super 8 motel in Fruita, CO. Then it's on down through Durango via the Million Dollar Highway and then on to a Econo Lodge motel in Pagosa Springs, CO for Wednesday night. Weather permitting I may cancel this reservation and stay in on of the many campgrounds around Vallecito Reservior. On Thursday I will go up over Slumgullion Pass to Paonia.

I can share my route as a Garmin file, too. I'd be interested in joining up with anyone doing a similar route. My plans are not necessarily set in stone.

My plans are Gillette to the Tetons, a day riding Yellowstone then to Craters of The Moon for an overnight then to Salt Lake area and finally to Paonia.

The alternating purple and yellow shows the different days. I have overnights in Gillette WY, Yellowstone WY, Fremont Lake WY, Capitol Reef UT, Ouray CO, Paonia CO. There will definately be some amazing scenery and roads along the way. The roads in CO I have already ridden. The roads in WY and UT will be new to me. I'll be staying in a hotel/motel in Ouray. PM me if you're is interested. I welcome comments and suggestions.

I live on the route to Paonia if you are heading more a straight path via Aspen/ Glenwood springs.. we could get a MOA group to meet for pizza at a really good pizza place in Carbondale if a few would want... just PM me...


i am a nice mornings ride to Paonia over McCLures pass and there is a few good camp gournds in the Crystal River Vally... (national forest ones)

I'm planning on Flaming Gorge also, and if weather allows (i.e.- not TOO hot) a run to the Grand Canyon before moving along to Colorado Springs to meet up with some friends and then on to Paonia.
