I get it that the Metzeler Marathon ME880s are the favorite mileage tire. Question for you sport-oriented oilhead riders - how do they feel in the curves? Can you still get good grip and compliance when riding a brisk pace? I'm a canyon-carving California boy but I need to get 10K out of a set of tires this summer. Will I lowside because the tire doesn't stick as well as a set of Storms or Pilot Roads?

I can vouch for the Metzler 880 Marathons as really sticky for a high mileage tire. I've got them front and rear on a recently aquired K100RS, that I probably ride more aggresively than most (former Honda sportbike rider). I was real nervous for the first 1000 miles as I'm used to R compounds, but have found them to be very acceptable and my confidence has reached a dangerous level.
The nicest thing is when they do slip, they give lots of warning and don't totally go away like other tires I've run. Such as when you over cook a turn, and end up pulling a less than stellar downshift mid-apex. The rear will step out an inch or so, but hang on for you.
Good luck, ride safe!

This is exactly the information I am looking for. I currently use Pilot Roads and I like them but want better mileage (especially in the front).
How are the 880's in the wet?

I used the 880's on a K11LT and they did quite well in the rain.
