Hi All:
Can anyone make a recommendation for a reasonably priced tank bag that'll work on my K75S?
Thanks.

A later version multivario ( red piping). You can still find them used in very good condition here, eBay and other sites. My wife and I both have them on our K75's and they are fairly bulletproof and hold allot. Easy to fuel with the side zippers. If you go this route, make sure you get the rain cover...great tank bag but easily gets wet in a down pour when sitting still.

RKA makes a number of bags that will work fine with your K75.. I had one on my K75S, replacing a series of BMW Multivaro's, and loved it.

I used this one on my K100RS, which I don't have anymore. It's got a magnetic bottom which doesn't help much on my R1150RT. It's expandable, etc. Twenty bucks and postage and it's yours.

Unless your K100RS was a very unusual bike - the magnetic bag wouldn't have worked with it either - the K bike tank is aluminum.

I've been using a Marsee 19 liter tank bag called a pocket rocket on my K75S for a couple of years now. Expandable, double sided removable map pocket, back straps and rain cover think it was about $75.00. It's held up very well. :nod

:doh Now that I think about it, the Marsee came from my R100RT, which had a steel tank. I've done a lot of bike switching over the years and had to brush up on my models. Thanks for the catch!

Do you use the cover while you are riding? I have the bag and the cover on my K75T. While riding, the wind blows up under the cover and will blow it off if I don't hold it in place with my hand.:banghead

Sure do... If you have the orange rain cover and you use it without the middle section of the tankbag zipped in, you need to fold under the rain cover so you use the second set of snaps. There are three rows of snaps and which ones you use depends on how the tankbag is configured.

Help me if you can, I'm just packing up my new to me K75S. I'm off on a four day trip into Quebec. Sleeping bag, tent, rain suit and all of the essentials for a great ride are neatly assembled. I've taken the map portion of my tank bag and secured it to the front of the bike but now need to secure the end of the map portion at the front that is closest to me. Has anyone securely rigged up what is a magnetic bag? I'm only going to use the map portion as I don't want to feel that I'm leaning up against a full tank bag so there will be very little weight to manage in what I am attempting to hold down.

Chicane Canyon Tank Bag (http://www.webbikeworld.com/r2/motorcycle-tank-bag/chicane-tank-bag/). I bought mine directly from the manufacturer at their vendor display at last year's National in West Bend. One of the owners personally installed the unit, too. Much, much better than my Chase Harper 750 Compac, which though perfectly sized for my k75 gas tank, was almost unbearably non-user-friendly. It's got more than enough side pockets, sturdy zipper pulls and a fantastic, built-in, easy-to-deploy rain cover.
However good luck tracking down either a Chicane tank bag or the Chicane company themselves. I've heard rumors of a death of one of the owners to chapter 11, but for all intents and purposes, the company no longer exists...
Their url, www.chicaneusa.com (http://www.chicaneusa.com/) redirects to Racer Parts Wholesale (http://www.racerpartswholesale.com/category/Helen_Twowheels_Motorcycle_Stuff), who claim to be just as puzzled at the disappearance of the Chicane company as many of us are.
If you do come across one of these tank bags on Craigslist or eBay, my recommendation is scoop it up, quick. :thumb

By the sounds of what you trying to attempt, a few pieces of velcro should do the trick. More for the bag, less for the map case. You just need to pull it up to refuel. The adhesive backing on the name brand velcro is pretty sticky stuff.

I'm using the Dowco Fastrax on my K75s. Lots of cool features; hydration pack, built in rain fly, access ports for MP3/cell phone wires. I added a 12v power supply with a quick disconnect at the handlebar mount to keep my gadgets charged.

Don, I need to buy a small to medium size tank bag to take with me when I fly out to Fresno, CA on October 1 to pick up my 1992 K75 Standard from Tom and Rosie Sperry. I don't like huge tank bags. And I prefer a tank bag that is very easy to get out of the way quickly when I stop for gas.
I had a Big MAK on my 1150RT that I loved.

I had a Big MAK on my 1150RT that I loved.Jim, as mentioned - I've used RKA bags and have good luck with them. Richard makes them in all sorts of sizes so he likely has something you could use. And getting them out of the way to gas up is release two fast-release clips, and flip it back on the seat.
