Took my 2003 K1200RS to the shop in Scottsdale for 12k service. :deal Installed new rear brakes, tires etc. Riding home noticed cruise doesn't work (yellow light doesnt come on either). It worked driving over, absolutely positive as I used it on the 101. Is there some kind of reset for it when they inspect brakes and what not?
Thanks, in advance
Rich

The ABS is working?
No reset that I know of, there is a fuse F8.

So no ABS. Look at the ABS pickups front and rear.

Not sure what I would even be looking for in them, measurements, etc.
Taking it back Tuesday morn as they took it apart. Let them figure it out...

Ok. Just wondered if they forgot to secure one in place, etc. You can measure them, but if a wire opened in the connection, you couldn't do anything about it anyway. Anyway, the cruise gets it's speed signal from the ABS via the ABS sensors.

Thanks for the suggestions. It ended up being a gunked up switch right beside the airbox. It is a little orange switch that opens and closes with the throttle. Scottsdale BMW took it out and cleand it, and fixed it for me. They didnt even charge me.
Think I gonna order those service techs some Pizzas.

I've actually done that several times - or got a rack of beer - for the folks at my local dealer, and I highly recommend it. You trust these folks to make your bike right, and most work long, hard hours with not great pay. Almost no customer says "Thanks!" but will bitch their head off over any little thing. When you take the time to show them you appreciate their efforts you prove your appreciation and put yourself into a pretty small group. It never hurts to be the guy they know appreciates their work on a day when someone won't get their bike fixed...
