There's a write-up on IBMWR but the Haynes manual is a pretty good primer as well.
The front fork gaiters/boots for the K can be had for $5 a pair at any suspension shop...that sell Rancho suspension parts.

Laslty, be very careful not to strip the bolt hole threads when pulling out the drain bolts...

I did this last year and it is not a difficult job. Be aware that the seals are pretty tight and getting them popped out may require a little more muscle than you imagine - at least that was true for me. I bought the Rancho gaiters, but I did not install them yet. I'm waiting for the next time I have to pull off the front wheel. I used the Haynes manual as a guide, by the way.
