Ok, Anyone online? I'm trying to order a tank bag. Someones telling me I have an aluminum Tank, ergo no magnetic bag. Bikes not here, so I can't check with a magnet today...anyone know for sure? Strap bags are hard to find selection wise!

No problem. Just get one of those magnetic aluminum tank bags. (Oh, sorry, been watching too much Star Trek!). :p

In the movie, 'Scotty' gave the guy the formula for 'transparent aluminum'...

Yeah, I know. I figure if they can make it transparent, they can make it magnetic.

It's not magnetic or transparent, but it rusts. Clever.

Sailingfool,
I bought a Coretech Mini Tank bag strappy from WhitehorsePress at their open house in May. It works great. The back strap I ended up cutting, folding over and putting a hole in it. It is then held in place by the screw that holds the black tank guard in place.
Bag was less than $100. Would I like to have a genuine BMW strappy tank bag? Sure. But for $300+, no.

MTBS for the strappy.

It would be nice to see recommendations on what aftermarket bags fit and look good on a K bike.

Previous model Tour Master TB 12. New models are under $100. I gave $25 (including shipping) brand new on Ebay. I did not want a taller bag. Doesn't slide around on the tank and easy to refuel.

You can just see the coretech bag on my K in the background. I think it looks pretty good I think.
