Folks,
An update on our wandering Bylorussian motorcyclist Vladimir Yarets. For eight months he was in the Peoria area....most of the time in a hospital and nursing home recovering from the injuries sustained when a semi hit him on I-74 in McLean County.
He was given a 2000 BMW F650 by a Chicago area dealer, so he could continue his attempt at being the first deaf/mute cyclist to go round the world.
A week ago, without fanfair, he boarded his bike...and headed off to parts unknown...literally. We thought he was headed to Kansas City, and would then make his way to Mexico. A couple of days ago, he was spotted in Milwaukee...and was pointing at Nova Scotia. His beard - which was shaved at the hospital after his accident -- is growing back. He'd vowed not to cut it until he returned home to Minsk. Apparently, that vow is operational again. So, if you see a dimunative guy on a yellow heavily loaded F60...that's him. He's on the road somewhere, living our dreams...
