HI All,

After years of following this bike I finally took the leap and bought the 08 1200gs adventure. I've always admired this bike but the price scared me away. After riding allot of other bikes I decided to jump in and I think its the best decision Ive made in a long time. I'm in love but (don't tell my wife):heart

I ride an '05 RT, but I admire the GS for all it can do, and how extensively you can customize it with accessories to be YOUR bike.

Enjoy!

Welcome to the board. Lots of good info and folks here. It is helpful if you fill out your profile with a location and what bike you ride.

Welcome to the forum!

I ride with a guy named Amoroso, but you're not him. I have an '07 GSA. You picked a good bike and a good year to buy. I know you'll love it.

Again, welcome. Post early and often, and as Lt. John advised, fill in your profile.

Oh—and let's see some pics!

Well Tomorrow is a sad day I have to leave my bike overnight at the dealer for its first service, I'm having separation anxiety already:cry My dealer said I should have it back by lunch so I guess its not that bad. I'm not used to leaving a bike for service but as I understand it the first service on this bike should be done by the dealer. I've ordered a shop manual so I can do future work myself other than Valve adjustments I'll leave that to them.

Some of the finer dealerships have sleep-over accomodations that allow new owners to spend the night on a cot next to their bike while it's in for service. Be sure to ask your dealer about his ability to provide this wonderful service. :D
