My son-in-law and I were at Bob's BMW in Jessup, MD this weekend. Saw the new R1200GS with the lowered seat and suspension option. It was nice sitting on it with my feet flat on the ground.

Does anyone have one yet?

Hi RJM2096, What's your pants inseam? My old 1996 R1100GS seat height is now way too high for me-I'm now 60 & knees are now shot lifting my leg over the seat.

I saw a 29.5 inch seat height spec for the 2008 factory lowered option.

I think that is for the R1200R. The GS is about 30.X inches. At any rate, it is low enough for my wife who also rides a K1200S since the GS is now about the same height. Incidentally, the low seat that comes with it is a little confining. I use a normal height seat when I ride my wife's low GS. More room to move around, etc.

I have the new low version gs. Nice to put feet flat on ground. Don't like the low seat though.
