I received my insurance renewal yesterday and was astonished at the $724. price tag. The letter said something about not raising rates in a couple of years. Last year same company $564. The insurance was bought from Motorcycle Services in Jericho, NY. They say they specialize in BMW Bikes. They placed the policy with a Company called Universal Underwriters.
I live in NY State, have a 2002 1150GS, have been riding for 30yrs, no accidents and no tickets.

Comp DED 250
Fire DED 250
Theft DED 250

Last night I did some research on the web and this is what I found.
$652 Motorcycle Services. Same company that sent me the renewal for $724
$572 Progressive
$496 Martel
I will be switching to Martel when my existing policy expires.
