Can I put Pro-Grip gel grips on my '04 R1150RT? I can't imagine that the heated grips are going to get any hotter than black rubber in the summer sun. At the risk of being branded a heretic, I just don't like the BMW "stack-of-washers" grips. I've had the grips pictured below on every motorcycle I've owned since ... well, they've made them.

Do you mean can you put them over the heated shell of your heated grips?
Yes. You can remove the rubber on the present grips (carefully) and slip these over the heated shell. The plastic shell is grooved, wire in the grooves and then a sort of sticky paper wrap over that. Be careful not to cut into that...just score the stock rubber and cause it to part along the length of the score and remove it.

Thanks much!
