I was at the shop getting my tires changed, and of course the wierd left side wear issue came up,....still no real answer on that I can accept. BUT, an interesting tire pressue comment was offered by a BMW R rider, and I'm curious if others place any truck in it. "What pressure are you runn'in" he says. I mentioned the owners manual, and he thought otherwise. "Try higher pressure, until the increase after a long ride is less that 4 lbs"...as close as I can remember. I guess the idea is to find a point at which the flex of the tire is at a point where the heat build-up stabilizes. More flex, more heat, and more pressure would = stiffer less flex, less heat. Have any of you fellows gone through this exercise? KC

One of those "everbody knows that" (meaning not everybody knows that, but you've known it for so long that you figure everyone else must have had a chance to hear it as well") is to look for a 10% increase from cold to hot tire temps. so if 35 psi was correct cold, then warm the tire would read 38.5 (35 + 3.5). if it read something else then you would either add or remove air, depending upon which way you need to go.

a 4 lb increase would signify a starting pressure close to 40, if also following the 10% rule.
