Have just turned 800 miles on the new ride. I just love it, even after getting caught in a downpour on Black Mountain in NC she performed like a dream. I have never felt more comfortable on any other bike, and I've been on quite a few. BMW has gotten an owner for life.

nothing like going west on I-40 up Blacks Mountain at about 100mph in the far left lane....:bolt

I know exactly what you mean. After years of hoping to someday own a BMW, last fall I ran across a good deal on a 2001 R1100RL. I bought it, and since then I have put 8400 miles on it. I like it better every time I ride it. In fact, I am beginning to think it is an addiction.

I plan on hitting all the best roads, Dragon, Mt. Mitchell, Hwy 9, Pilot Mtn. the parkway of course, and all the little ones in between that only the bikers talk about.

Mr. Breeze we have the same bike, it is a very cool ride.

I agree you guys have some of the best roads around in western NC, but don't forget north Georgia.
US129 over Blood Mountain, GA180 across Wolf Pen Gap going to Suches, GA60 from Dahlonega to Morganton passing through Suches, GA75 from Helen to US76 and Hiawassee, GA197 from Clarksville to US76, Warwoman Road east out of Clayton.
So many roads, so little time....

We have a small group, maybe 30 to 40 members, we get together every 2nd and 4th Sunday have breakfast and do some riding. Lots of great people. Lets get a riding calandar going, if you are planning a ride in the near future post it and lets get a group together.

I think I pulled that resturant up once, to try and meet you guys... If I come north on rt521 out of Lancaster, Sc and cross I-485 you'll be about one mile on the right? let me know if this is correct and I'll try and get up there this Sunday...
