K Bike water pump seal change, new style

I had a leaking pump seal on a '91 K100rs that I replaced with the new style, there are no schematics that show installation. Has anyone replace this before and does the original washer go back in or is it replaced by the new seal as well as the end cap? I did replace the end cap that was flagged with the seal on the dealers list but on installation it started to leak immediately.

Thanks for the lead deilenberger. this is my first trip to the moa forum as well as the ibmwr site , quite a tool. The new slip ring seal that I recieved from my dealer did NOT have the plastic cover that is represented in the articles, nor did it have the 2 piece metal/rubber washer in the package that is visible in one of the pic's just under the plastic cover. I had assumed the the original washer was replaced with the new design, that however was my fault. I have just replaced the washer and resealed the cover. I will leak test tomorrow.
