Hi All ---
Could someone please recommend a good repair shop to rebuild a transmission on a 4-speed R75/5 BMW?
I corresponded with a couple of guys earlier but my mail server crashed and I lost it all. There was someone in Georgia, I recall. Lost his name. Who else? Looking for someone who really knows what they are doing on the 4-speeds.
Thanks for any help ! I need to get back on the road !

Where you are located and if you plan to pull and install the transmission your self have bearing on who to recomend.

Ted's had mine for the last 6 weeks, should be home this week.
Make sure to ask how long a rebuild will take if you want to ride this summer!

This topic comes up from time to time on the AirList. The names mentioned are the usual ones given as reliable shops.
If you are mechanically inclined, a helpful video and the special tools are available from Cycle Works (which used to mean Ed Korn, but there is a new owner). See:
http://www.cycleworks.net/
I've used this video and the special tools with good success. The shim kit seems a bit less expensive if purchased on ebay rather than directly from Cycle Works.
