Have an 06 R1200RT with 4k, not even broken in yet. Has a very high frequency vibration in the bars, left grip is more pronounced than the right, also the left mirror is blurred but not the right. Really annoying at 4000rpm where I like to run. Any input on this would be appreciated... thanks

I have pretty much the same characteristic with mine also. My left mirror is somewhat clearer after a careful valve adjustment. The right is clear all the time at highway speeds. I tried adding modeling clay to the back of the glass to possibly change its natural frequency. It made the problem worse. Slipping thin strips of sheet rubber between the mirror housing and the fairing did help a bit.
If it's any consolation, the mirrors on my FJR vibrate even more.

IMHO, it is just the nature of the beast, with those two big pistons pumping away. The more pistons you have doing the work, the smoother the engine will run. I have an 05 R12ST and the amount of vibration depends on how carefully the valve adjustment and throttle body sync is done.
BTW, this high freq vibe has caused connectivity problems with my Zumo and its very poorly designed mounting cradle. But, I'm not gonna start beating that dead horse again.
Sarmand, I am surprised to hear about the vibes on your FJR. I have always heard those were very smooth machines.

No more vibes on my R1200RT.
Good Luck!

Hey Marty -
Boost the running revs to 5K, and the picture becomes crystal clear. For a ride designed to go 160mph, anything less is lugging it.
Simply said, learn to love and ride the "sweet spot."

J.K. :wow
P.S. Drop a half a can of BG 44K every other month to clean fuel injectors will also help smooth out rough spots. Works for my R-12s (22K miles).
