Have to stop every hour or so, just to stretch out the left knee..... I know there is a part from Suburban Machinery and others that lowers the pegs by a couple of inches, but it seems counter-intuitive to think that that such a small increment makes a difference......Does it really work ?
Thanks for input

I installed the Suburban Machinery peg lowering kit on the RT and found a significant improvement. Sometimes small things do make a difference. YMMV.

the lowerers made a significant difference for me. I ride with the seat in the high position.

Jim, I don't know about foot pegs but I had my bike lowered 1/2", I couldn't believe how much more difficult that made putting the loaded bike onto the centre stand. So I would guess that yes, a 2" lowering of foot pegs MIGHT make a BIG difference. You won't know until you install them and ride with the lowered pegs.

I have the lowered foot pegs from Suburban Machinery on my 07 RT. I also experience left knee pain when riding for more than a couple of hours. The lowered pegs did not help with the knee pain, but the riding position feels less cramped overall. I'm 6'0".

Got the SM pegs on my GS and they were a huge improvement. Not a total improvement (still need a taller seat), but a huge improvement all the same.

In my case its not the position of the knee, but that it stays in one position for too long. I can be sitting in a comfy chair in my den and, if I don't move it, my left knee will start to scream and I have to straighten it out. If I stand for too long I have to bend it. Anyway, for me, a footpeg lowering kit won't do anything. But one of these days I'm going to put highway pegs on my bike so I can stretch it out for a few minutes. Now I just stretch my left leg out to the side for a few seconds.

Hiway pegs? Gives a chance to stretch them out.
