turn signal canceling

After 4 years of owning my 1996 K1100RS I discover the bike has automatic signal canceling! I remember someone mentioned that it had it but I never saw it until now. I guess I was not giving it enough time. Is it just timed in the flasher box or tied to some other curcuit? Can the time be changed?

According to the owner's manual the turn signal self can cell after a certain time or distance. Distance seems to be a 1/4 mile.

Don't know about your bike, but the K75
cancels after 10 seconds if above 30 mph
and 600 feet if below.

Hard habit to break, I always forget about the auto off, I do it manually, nice feature though....I know I've drove behind cycles with signals on for miles
