Would anybody like to comment on their TT adjustable windscreen or Laminar Lip?

I've been thinking I could use a little bit more coverage for the I-90 blast I'm going to do on the way to Gillette next month. I've got time on the return leg to meander the backroads that are my prefered roadways where wind-turbulence is less of an issue so I don't want/need a big fairing (like the parabellum) if I can help it. From experience putting big miles at interstate speeds on a naked bike is exhausting. Poked around the 'net a bit and found limited discussion so I thought I would toss the question out here.

From experience long days at interstate speeds are to exhausting to contemplate on a naked bike so I've pretty much ruled that out, though I might be convinced otherwise.

6'-0" tall with a 32" inseam so I sit relatively tall in the saddle.

On the plus side for TT, they are located not too far off my route of travel to one of my jobs so I get the instant gratification of a visit to the mothership of farkles.

Other options are also welcome.

Steve; After much deliberation (between LL and TT clip-on) I added a Laminar Lip to my GSPDs stock screen.

It didn't make a lot of diffrence that I could tell and I think the the TT may be about the same or less.

Wind turbulence and buffeting drives me nuts and can be scary on my big cow. When I move to the mainland soon the first thing I'm going to do is take off the screen, Lip and all---and try riding semi-naked. I have heard that they me the best thing I can do for the PD wind problem.

If I could easily remove and ride without the fairing I'd try that too (see my post about "Naked/Partially bobbed GSPD" elsewhere on this forum).

But if you're going to try an add-on I'd try the TT first since they're so close to you. Probably easy to sell if it's not for you (and it's easy to remove when you don't need it or are parked in a bad neighborhood, etc.)

Good luck!

I ride the new GSAdventure1200 and the LIP is a "best" solution for me and this bikes stock windscreen. 6' and a 32" inseam here too. Placing the Laminar Lip correctly means a lot, so take your time and place it just right. The velcro tabs are a pain, however and fail after a while, as one needs to clean the windscreen. Taking the Laminar Lip loose to clean bugs is a pain, but managable. I left the velcro tabs on and drilled a single hole on both sides to help hold the Lip in place, because after several cleanings and removing the Lip from the shield, the tabs don't hold up to this well and don't stick anymore. I used a simple nylon bolt(2), thats much easier to remove for this cleaning purpose. TIP; Use a "plastics specific"drill bit to drill the holes and its much easier. The shields can crack easily, if using the wrong tools(bits). The VERY pointy "plastics" bits are the right tool for cutting, NOT melting as you drill:). Randy"Polarbear"PS;Quarter inch bit. Bolt? About 1 inch in length, with a nut or wingnut,etc..
