First gear is going out. Can anyone recommend a repair shop withing 400 miles of Wilmington, North Carolina? I'd rather drive it in than remove it and ship. If I have to ship it I'll send it to Bob's BMW in Jessup.

I can normally do a ride-in, ride-out tranny repair if that's your preference. Might mean an overnight but we have a guest cottage just for that kind of thing.

340 miles on the slab. Shipping would be cheaper than the fuel.

I called Rubber Chicken last week regarding transmission work.

Tom Cutter will work on the tranny only if you bring it in. He has no room for bikes right now and will not add to his schedule until his work backlog is manageable again.

A third option is boxerworks in Watkinsville GA., the sponsor of the boxerworks.com site.
