Need a trustworthy mechanic in Northern Arizona for '89 R100GS.
Recommendations or shop/people to avoid.
Looking at Bernie's Cycle in Mesa, AZ - Any comments?
Thanks
My bike is still under warranty but I know many AZBeemers that go to there and recommend it. AZMotoman is also excellent.

I am with Tweety1: Bernie's has been used by AZ Beemers, but most of our club goes to www.azmotoman.com Owner Mark Meadows also is an R100GS Owner.

I'm moving to Prescott this summer/fall and also have a GSPD; curious to know if there's anybody closer?

Lookit- Omar knows his ****, has jaw-droppingly inexpensive hourly rates, and besides, he knows his ****.
He's meticulous, pays attention to what the hell he does, and again- great prices.
He's worked on my airhead many times, and it's so much a better bike because of his attention and skill.
Okay- 'nuff said.

Besides, no matter what he charges, you'll be getting a deal because of his expertise.
Just be sure to make an apointment with him so you don't distract him from my bike!

Statdawg; that's one of the most beautiful Beemers I've ever seen.
I can see why it would be well worth getting my bike down to Motoghost regardless of the distance---thank you very much!
Now if only I could afford to modify my GSPD thusly...:whistle

I can tell you that if you want to mod said GSPD, your first order of business is to find yourself a KTM front end.

Last Summer AZ Beemers had a Laguna Seca Grand Prix Watching and Pool Party with comidas y bebidas at the beautiful mountainside desert property of Brian and Melanie Boles in East Mesa. My friend Brian is the Arizona Airheads Air Marshal and now has my position as President of AZ Beemers MOA Club #89.
Omar had brought both this bike and his Reg Pridmore R90S replica bike to Brian's house for the party to show off his wares to AZ Beemers. Brian and Mel live on five acres and have trails emanating from their property out into the desert wilds.
Omar let both Brian and I take this incredible Beemer desert sled out for brief test rides. Omar gave me a laundry list of items that I need to accrue for him to build one for myself; like baldwithglasses said, the KTM front end is the first item to get.
Since I'm not moving rapidly on acquiring the parts necessary for Mr. Sayeid to get moving with the project, I'm thinking of giving both Omar and Brian "seed money" to start getting the used KTM and BMW components that I need for this project.
Omar is definitely the Airheads man, even though he can also do my two Oilheads.
I have gone on two camping trips with BB and the AZ Airheads lately and I am hoping for their help in scoring parts. Sold my R80 in 10/95 to get my R1100GS.
