Brake Failure Warning Light

My '78 R100S brake failure warning light is flashing on and off. Thought brake fluid might be low so I topped it off, fiddled with the float (moving ok). I don't see a full level indicator on the reservoir but it is pretty full. Anyone have any ideas I can check? Thanks.

The rubber bumber at the front of the fuel tank might be worn or missing. This lets the tank drop down onto the two wires on the reservior cap, that will flash the warning light on your dash.

Thanks for the suggestion, I know the rubber mount is there but it could be worn or slightly out of place. Once I burn some gas out of the full tank, I'll check that angle (this weekend).
