I have an early R1100RS (build date 3/93) that I bought new in '94 and have accumulated rather a lot of mileage on. For the last few years I have kept it with Stefan Knopf in Heidelberg (http://www.knopftours.com) so I could go riding in Europe. Last month after I had just picked it up, it died...

You can read my story at my web site (http://darryl.crafty-fox.com/motorcycles/2004theend.htm) and see how it turned out.

Darryl, that is an awesome job you did on the restoration of the Silver Phoenix. I love the paint job, and I am sure you will get a lot of pleasure for years to come from the bike.

Outstanding RS. I wish mine looked that good, though it's not bad. It also only has 48K miles on it, and is currently broken!:cry

The paint looks awesome, Darryl. Did you keep the numbers somewhere?

Now I'm even more jealous of you. :D

You going to write another article? That was pretty fantastic, man.

If the latter, I dunno... Court Fischer is still probably mad at me that it took me two years to write the first one.

Oh, I was talking about the 'ring, but the RS story would be pretty good too.
