Yesterday while on the way home from work, i had to stop at a local store. When I came out, i jumped on the bike (a '95 R100 GSPD), and rode away :bolt
........ without putting the sidestand up. Of course my first left hand turn resulted in some loud scraping noises. I pulled off to the side of the road; got off of the bike, put the sidestand up, got back on the bike, pushed the starter button and got.......... NOTHING, but some faint clicking. :scratch
At first i figured that i must have shorted something out. All of the lights and fuses were fine. So then i put the bike on the centerstand, and started looking at the sidestand to see if there was anything that i might have done. (I had already tried starting it in neutral, with no luck).
After operating the sidestand by hand a few times, i thumbed the starter and it fired right up. Any idea's what might have caused this? I would have not been really happy if this had happened on the road a 1000 miles from home, rather than about 200 yards from my house.
thanks in advance,
sdc
