Does anyone have any suggestions on travel insurance that they use. I am looking at purchasing some for the rally and I need some companies to look up for quotes. Thanks for the help.:thumb

Don't know where you're located, but this may help. Try your local auto club AAA/CAA, or look up Blue Cross on line. We're in The Toronto Ontario area, and will be getting coverage through the CAA for Americade next week. It's around $37 for two of us for the week.

Actually, my DH just came home from doing some banking, and informs me they offer it there. Worth checking into, maybe.

...suggestions on travel insurance...

bg,

It depends on what you're referring to by "travel insurance".

For "road service", I've joined RVRoadHelp, part of Allstate Motor Club (and KOA), because it covers any vehicle I'm driving/riding, and will tow any distance to nearest repair facility. Others I've heard of have a mileage limitation, and you become liable for the excess. I believe they also have a trip interruption coverage in case of a disabling "incident" (which, BTW, didn't apply when my "incident" was a catastrophic mechanical failure caused by poor judgment in an internet vehicle purchase, and a fly/drive home; they did, however, provide good service getting said vehicle to a mechanic). RVRoadHelp is $85 ($95?) per year.

As mentioned above, there is also Medjet Assist, which has a MOA discount, and which provides for medical coverage and evacuation if you are hospitalized more than 150 miles from home. With the motorcycle plan, they will also ship your bike home. The family plan is, IIRC, $325/year. As much as my family wanders around, it's well worth it to me, and I just renewed.

Hope that all helps.

MY employer uses International SOS. Without going into details here, I can tell you that it works.

I have to agree with DJW - medjet assistance makes sense!
