a client of my daughter has Cerebral Palsy, He is 28 and said he would love to go for a motorcyle ride. I suggested a side car which he would like but first he would like to go on a regular motorcycle. I have a R100R would I believe would be the easiest to modify for a special needs rider. Has anyone made a special seat for such a purpose. I am looking for some advice before I start to try and design something. I am thinking of something that would be on three sides of the passenger and perhaps a strap or some diagonal seat belts. Any thoughts or advice? thanks Bob Sutton #129532

Brian the special needs passenger is in a wheelchair doesn't have full use of his arms. My daughter lifts him in an out of her car. I believe is we can use a couple of velcro straps to ensure his feet are on the pegs and then make sure there is a back rest on 3 sides and fairly high it may work. My thoughts are to fabricate a seat and then try it only on the centre stand with a couple of friend ensuring the bike stays upright. At that point we can decide on modification or trial. thanks for any suggestions bob

I would think the first question would be the extent of his disability.

I have a close friend with CP. It effects only his legs and the way he walks. With help mounting, I believe he could ride a motorcycle.

On the otherhand, I have a nephew with CP and his disabilities are much more severe. In his case, it effects his speech, mobility, and somewhat, his mental capacity. I don't believe he could ever ride as a passenger.
