View Full Version : Fuel gauge adjustment?

My fuel gauge now reads between 1/4 and 1/2 when the tank's completely empty. I've never had the fuel pump out before (BMW noob, still...) and don't know if the level sensor can be adjusted. Can I adjust it, or is it strictly a replacement item?

The dealer did mine after they did some work on it. The only thing is the service manual says to do it with the tank empty but I think they do it at the factory with a little gas in it. Now when my gauge is down in that little triangle at the bottom of the gauge I have about 1/2 gl of gas.
