:ear Hi , I am having a problem with the indexing marks on my clutch assy. I have it all pulled apart and didnt make any marks on it before disassembling it. There are 2 dots on the pressure plate , one white and the other...... yellow 120 dergess from the white mark on the pressure plate . On The housing cover there is faintly white paint on the outside rim . It almost looks like like over spray from the part numbers in the face of it.
The clymer book says to space the marks 180 degress apart from each , the BMW servive manual sayes to 120 degress in each case.... I have not removed the flywheel from the bike and was wondering if the flywheel has any thing to to be indexed with the 2 peices .
The other thing that i was wondering ......with out the paint .....i see the factory has drilled mark in different locations to balance the items...could these be a betterway to match them up with out the paint marks ...
I guess if i cant figure this problem out i could order new on from BMW with new paint ....or ... take them to a machine shop to be balanced ??? then...I should take the flywheel too to be balanced in an assy.? I hope the engine is internally balanced ????????????????
