Does anyone know of a supplier for stainless steel cable straps that are used to secure the rubber boot onto the final drive housing and the drive shaft housing? You know, the ones that have the worm gear, just like water hose clamps only a lot skinnier. I saw them on a 1100RT last night, but the guy got away before I could ask where he got them. I could not find them on the parts fiche, so I'm hoping someone can help.

you won't find SS on a parts fiche, as factory issue is a plastic/nylon type. suitable replacement issue can be found at Ace hardware, or Chicago BMW. for a low(er) cost OEM option.

The stainless ones were standard on the original oilheads, my 94 RS has them. I don't know what year they switched over to the plastic ones, but you may have some luck looking at an older model. Not sure if they are still available for the early years, or if the plastic straps have superceded them.
