I have an 04 R1150RT and installed a set of Throttlemeister bar ends. Unfortunately I lost the directions and can’t remember how to move the grip assembly over to make the whole thing work. Any help would be appreciated.

can you clarify what you mean by "move the grip assembly over to make the whole thing work"? i'm not really sure what you are asking. is it installed, and you just don't know how to engage it? or do you think its not properly installed?

The bar ends are installed but when engaged the throttle side does not come in contact with the grip to hold it in place. I remember from the directions I once had that you need to move the grip over so that it comes in contact with the throttlemeister but I don't see any screws etc to loosen the whole thing to fine tune it.

The unit should have come with some shims. You just remove shims until the correct clearances are archived.

That model does not come with shims. There are three small screws in the throttle assembly (two well hidden) that enable you to open it to reveal the large bolt that secures the assembly on the bar. Loosen that bolt and slide the assembly outward. Set it so 1/4 a rotation of the TM holds the throttle when the grips are cold. That will set the TM for 1/8 rotation when they are hot.

Thanks for the information. I also emailed Throttlemeister and within 20 minutes they emailed me back the instructions in pdf. Great service I have to say.

First remove the three screws on the right hand grip/ brake assembley and that will give you access to the clamp that holds the grip brake on the handlebar. Then move the grip toward the throttle meister and make this adjustment with the heated grips on . You want about .045 clearance and then check it after tightening down the grip clamps so that when the throttlemeister is activated it make firm contact witht he throttle but so that you can still turn the throttle but is firm enough to hold the throttle when engine is running. and of course make sure it will disengage the throttle so that it is not touching any part of the throttle when released Emailme at Drdv654@cs.com I can fax you the instruction if you need them Dr Dave
