Anyone recall what the size or part number is for the oil filter wrench that fits for the filter on an R1200 GSA? I recall there was a Checkers part number.
Thanks,

All I know is that the old strap-type wrench I use for my VW and used for an Acura I used to have does the trick for me.

Shhh! I use a pair of water pump pliers!(giant slip-joint pliers). A little on the redkneck side but they work.:thumb

Don't say that like it's a BAD thing.

I'm sure, as we speak, somewhere in München, Fritz or Hans is skewering an oil filter with a screwdriver. I think the use of water pump pliers is quite elegant, and shows great refinement.

I would be wary of using a screwdriver to remove the filter. If you knock a hole in it and can't get it off, or the filter comes apart (it has happened), you are stuck until you can get it off. Same with big pliars!

Use a proper tool of some sort!

Stuck? Come on, don't you own a hammer and a cold chisel?

Your picture sir... I forgot the last time I used it I cut four slits in it at 12, 3, 6, 9 That made it eaisier to get on. As I said it was tight, but for a buck .99 it's GREAT.

I gave an oil filter to one of the toolmen that come to my shop. He brought me a wrench that fits perfect. Its made by AST the number is M0103. I paid $15. If anyone is interested I can you can call them and they can ship one to you.
