i have a 1991 r100rt that has a lot of vibration in the mirrors mostly the left. the bikes runs great and if you pull the clutch while at speed the mirrors are perfect ?? any thoughts ?? any aftermarket mirrors that attach to the stock brackets that are better ?? thank you Frank

Check your motor mounts. Try synching your carbs. Handlebar bolts tight? Try loosening and/or moving the handlebar slightly in its mounts.

one of mine makes noise, too. I discovered it's the glass rattling in the black housing. Now I'm searching for just the right shim material, about 1/8 - 1/16 wide to stick btw the glass and the housing. That should snug it up. Maybe that's your noise too.
Hmmmm....? maybe a paper matchstick....!!!
...gotta go out to the garage and do some artistic engineering.

I had similar issues with the plastic frame that holds the mirror glass in place allowing the glass to move. I tried to epoxy it in tight and that would work for a short while but in the long run ... $25 for a new mirror is the best fix.

If you don't mind smaller mirrors, the earlier smaller RT mirrors are more steady, probably due to less mass. I installed a set on a 94 RT fairing and it cured the problem.

On both my rts if you get the speed up the right mirror will smooth out and the left will start a buzz a little at a little over 6k or so. The fact you can pull the clutch and cure it points at motor vibration rather then wind, tire, wheel, or loos fairing mounts.
