Tomorrow morning I'm going for surgery at Stanford Medical Center to have the metal plate and thirteen screws removed from my left tibia. It's been 10 months since I broke my leg and the plate has been bothering me so they're going to remove it in the morning. The doctor said I will be walking out of the hospital an hour after I wake up.
Wish me luck.

It looks like they are taking good care of you, it looks like they even installed a computer that drops down from the ceiling so that you can continue posting through the operation.

Hope they give you a nice "IV Cocktail" in Pre-Op like they gave me. Will you get to keep the spare parts? I hear titanium's pricey stuff. Best of luck and hope your recovery is speedy!

Good luck, and don't forget to ask them to check your final drive while they are at it....

You may want to ask them for the plate back, titanium is expensive...:deal

cheers

I hope it went well for you.

Do you get to keep the parts? Knowing you, you'll fabricate some kind of video/camera/bike gizmo out of the bits. :ha

I'm alive and I'm home. Thanks all. I now know what a stab wound to the leg would feel like. Ouch.

Was minding her own business driving the limit (unusual for her), but as sche crested a hill on her Road Glide, she came upon a car driven by a lady that decided to back up over a hill to get to the turn she missed. My friend swerved to the road ditch after maximum braking made it apparent she wasn't going to get stopped and the lady was still backing up. She swerved for the road ditch and almost made it but caught the left side of the bike and her leg. Not good.
After having the titanium rod taken out she had it made into the shifter linkage (visible on a HD) for her new Road Glide.
A very expensive and painful way to add sparkle to your bike.

What a gread video that would have made!

I wonder what background music would have been mixed in, knowing the stuff that makes it into ride-vids?

I'm going with this:

<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/497ZmAsGAT4&hl=en"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/497ZmAsGAT4&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>

About as long as the surgery lasted :lol
