hi my K11Lt radio turns on, and just whines..So I am of the opinion its on its way out. Are there any recommendations for quick radio fixes or people who can repair them?

The alternative is to throw it away and replace it with an XM/MP3 unit - again any recommendations welcome.

Not enough info on your post to tell. But have you disconnected the battery?

The K11 radio needs to have the 4 number security code entered to activate it after it has lost power from the battery. I don't remember mine making any whining noise though until the code was entered.

I did have my antennae come loose once where it plugs into the radio connector. That made for some scratchy listening every time I hit a bump.

I ripped mine out to have to pocket free for other junk. Myself, I had no interest in repairing or listening to a 15 year old radio; nor did I want to be rolling down the street with music blaring out of scratchy speakers...it's sooo ...last century! :p Go with the MP3 or satelite radio if that's your thing.

Has anyone changed to better speakers to improve the sound quality? If so what speakers did you use and was the install difficult?
Thanx,
Ragman

I have re-entered the code and it just sits proudly on display.

Anyone replaced their radio with a more modern unit eg with MP3 hook up? - what one did you go for?

Or as per my original post anyone installed an XM or Sirius device - what unit did you go for?

thanks in advance

Yea, I put some nice Pioneers in but they still sound like 4" speakers in a convertible. MP3 with earbuds is the ticket!
