The bike checked out good yesterday. Went to leave today on a 24 day trip on the bike. Got as far as the end of the driveway and the transmission, or something in that area started making a LOT of noise. Anything above 10 MPH and it sounded like it was grinding all the gears into pieces and the engine could not handle the load. Sounded like it might be trying to jump between gears or be in two gears at once. The clutch felt like it was working properly.

I took the trans out of my 91 R100RT as it was apart for painting and put it in the 95. Something did not go together correctly as now the clutch rod will not move. The clutch is engaged.

7 hours of hard work and nothing gained! Got any suggestions?

Yikes! How did the splines in the trans input shaft look? Are they worn down? Did that shaft then grind away at the corresponding slots in the clutch?

The splines in the clutch fely good when I lubed them and the trans splines look good.

do you mean the clutch arm moves as usual but the clutch is not disengaging?
can you re-confirm the correct order and working condition of the clutch control guts?
confirm that the clutch arm is free to move on the bolt and not bound.
