I have the park in the city and I think I would feel better if I had an alarm system on it. It seems like I go out and check on it 4-5 times a day. I have looked around and there are some that say they are made for the BMW R series...
Has anyone put an alarm on a 75/5? I worry about the poor recharging system that the bikes are known to have. Will this run out my battery quicker?
If I wanted to upgrade the recharging system, what would you guys recommend?
Thanks!!!!

I use a cable alarm lock which can lock the bike to a fixed structure but which when moved goes off for a while, then resets but has a telltale light which shows that there has been some movement. The cable is about 10 ft long. It is a type commonly sold in gun shops. Runs on a 9v alkaline battery. A heavy duty cable and chain with padlocks is the primary deterrent.

I have not installed an alarm on my bike. I have used a heavy duty chain in front tire and another on the rear tire and chained it to a permanent structure on both end. I also like the idea of a cable lock with an alarm that PT 9766.
The charging system: I installed the Omega 400 from Rick at Motorrad. I love it, Rick is a great guy and will help you along the way. Check for the different threads... much has been discussed about our beloved electrical system.... :dance :violin :banghead

I came across some neat stuff in the aerostich catalog. You might find something you like there without stressing the electrical system. :stick Check it out at www.aerostich.com :D
