Cliff's BMW in Connecticut moved recently and I'm trying to update their coordinates in my Excel spreadsheet which contains locations of all the US BMW dealers, to download into my Garmin. The last GPS address in my Garmin for the old place was as follows:

-73.50723 and 41.39244.

They told me the new Latitude and Longitude as follows, but what does that translate to since N41°27.58764, W073°24.38232 (as they gave it to me yesterday from Google Maps) have so many more digits after the degree sign, and on my Excel spreadsheet of all the US BMW dealers with GPS coordinates, none have more than 5 digits after the decimal point.

Do not know if this is true for all units, but I have a Zumo, and I downloaded all the BMW dealers in NA into the unit without having to make one by one entries..

Same with me, but when a dealer moves, somehow you need to input the dealer's new information, and an Excel spreadsheet works fine. I did get an education from a buddu of mine just now, and here's the result from our threads back and forth:

(2) Not a GPS issue - it's a coordinate system issue.

The lat/long look like they're stored in Excel in Degrees only while the lat/long provided by google maps is Degrees and minutes only.

Dividing the minutes by 60 to convert back into degrees,
Your google lat/long coordinates would convert into degrees only as:
n41.45979/w73.40637

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(3) Looks like a winner, and thanks!

I just input your new coordinates into http://boulter.com/gps/ as 41.45979 -73.40637 and the map shows at least the correct road. I think I'm good to go. Thanks again.
