Would the oil pump from a 1980 and up R-100 engine fit my 1978 r-100/7? It seems that I have inadvertantly installed a cam shaft with a flat instead of the original with the key way. Short of pulling the engine back apart, it seems easier to remove the transmission and replace the oil pump with one from a later model engine. OK, in retospect, I am an idiot and should have paid more attention during reassembly; it's just that it's so dark in the furthermost crevices of a airhead twin. It looked right at the time...

If you check the online parts fiche on one of the dealer websites, you will find that all camshafts for all models use the same outer oil pump rotor.

I bought a brand new oil pump this year when I decided to rebuild my
1977 R100RS after 350,000 miles on this engine. When I looked at the pump it was in perfect shape and I won't be needing the new one I bought.
The oil pumps should be installed as a set, inner rotor & outer rotor and rear cover.
I have one for sale at my cost less 10% + shipping.
It is the one with the flat sided inner rotor. The engine is a 1984.
The only thing I don't have is the rubber o-ring.

Let me know if you are interested!
