We are in Washington DC for Easter.
The drivers in DC are nuts. The roads are complicated and full of tourists and locals that are frustrated. It is nothing to see someonce change over three or more lanes to take an exit while traveling 80MPH. No way would I ride a motorcycle here. :dunno
This is the first official weekend of the annual tourist invasion - it gets worse and worse up until after the Cherry Blossoms drop, then tapers off until the great August exodus. From around early October until mid-March we generally have a bit of peace :)

Thanks for the warning! We are thinking about riding down there this weekend. I've always wanted to see the Cherry Blossoms. Now I'm thinking twice.

The festival is great, and the blossoms are absolutely beautiful! But be prepared for heavy traffic and crowds. You may want to leave the bike at home. Either way, think about parking at a Metro station and training in.

Great advice - Here is the DC Metro map:

The stations with the little cars have (pay) parking.

We picked up the Metro west of Falls Church and road to the Smithsonian commons. It cost about 6.00 per person (all day pass) + 4.50 for all day parking at the station. It is a good system, I am impressed. :usa
