I purchased a used full size BMW Windscreen for my 2002 R1150R. I cannot figure out how to attach the lower mounts. Can someone send me a picture or explain a modification that needs to be done?

Thanks

Phil,

The upper ones, as you can probably see, attach to the bottom of the triple clamp. The lower ones attach to an existing point that's directly underneath the turn signals. You need to pull the little silver ears off to see them. If you want, I can put some pictures up.

But if you look in this one, you can see how they loop around and mount under the turn signals.

I assume you have these kind of mounts, but have the taller shield? You can have both shields and just swap them back and forth.

Have you figured out the well nuts? They can be kind of diabolical. They're just a press fit into the ends of the brackets and as you tighten them, they swell against the inside of the hole they live in.

I was told by the person I purchased the screen from that it came off his same year model bike.

Based on your description and the photo I assume there should be a 90 degree lip with threaded holes for the mount on the headlight bracket. My bike does not have this. I am wondering If I need to get a different headlight mount?

I dunno, man. Ours just bolted right up.

Trudi Huffman sent me the following information:

"sounds like you do not have the triangular pieces that slip over the end of the signal"

One quick phone call to the dealer and the bracket are on there way.

Thanks Trudi.
