Any suggestions on how to install the o rings on the new master cylinder piston that comes with a master cylinder rebuild kit? I've tried various "stretching" methods only to abandon the ordeal so as not to break the o rings.
The master cylinder is on a 74' R90/6.
Thanks for the help.

I just did the same on my /7. It was tough, but after warming them, they DID go without damage. If I ever do it again, however, I will make a cone-shaped device to ease them on. Would save wear and tear on my fingers, too. I did the same with the teflon rings on a power steering unit with good effect.

In the articles on brakes at this link........... http://www.w6rec.com/duane/bmw/index.htm..... Using dental floss is discussed............
For me, I recently used some teflon "pipe" tape wrapped around jets and such to install O rings.........they just rolled on..........Dennis
