Can anyone point me to directions, or explain? Mine came without anything but an invoice, and it doesn't fit the way I've been trying to install it (which is on the motor mount stud to which the mid-exhaust clamp attaches). Thanks - B

Thanks Kurt.
My exhaust pipe clamps to that nut, and because of that, there isn't room for the mounting bracket. There is more than metal to metal contact, both need to occupy the very same space!
I'll keep trying....

Nope, no way. The peg on the bracket to which the stand's spring attaches contacts the exhaust pipe before the bracket is even on far enough to see motor mount stud threads. To actually tighten up the mounting bolt would drive that peg 1/2" or more into the side of the exhaust pipe. Guess I could hammer the pipe a bit and flatten it, but that does NOT seem to be the right answer.

Ah! There's the difference right there. In the pictured stand, the spring (and its peg) are on the TOP side of the bracket. Mine are on the bottom - so much more appealing to the eyes.... but it doesn't fit.

Brian -
A couple of things come to mind... You seem to have some knowledge of what works and doesn't work with this sidestand. I've scoured the web for any postings or information regarding the Surefoot, but most everyone says they like the stand with no issues on installation. It's hard to think you're the only one with an installation problem.
There are several versions of this stand...4 of them I believe, for different year bikes. Did you get the right one? Where did you get it...Motobins? Any chance the seller can provide you some insight??

Yup, Motobins. I spoke to them last week and will again tomorrow.
I'm thinking maybe I can replace the stud with a longer one, or a longer bolt, put a spacer behind the mounting bracket. We'll see.

Fixed! I loosened up the nut on the other end of the stud, to move the whole stud leftwards. That gave me room to play with on the left side. Installed the stand with three washers behind the mounting bracket, tightened it up, then loosened and removed the washers and reinstalled the stand without them - it's on there now.
Thanks all - Brian
