I've just put a sidecar on my f650GS, and can see that tires will be an issue. I've been running the Metzeller tourance with good success, but wonder if anyone has experience with a side car rig and can advise me as to tire choices for good mileage. Thanks in advance for any replies.

Beemerchef (http://www.bmwmoa.org/forum/showthread.php?t=14031&page=16)has some experience with sidecars, and had put a few miles on his rig, maybe you can drop him a line if he doesn't see this thread.

Metzeler make a "Block K" sidecar tire in 4.00 x 18. Avon make a "Sidecar Triple Duty universal in 3.50 x 19 but you could also use their "Safety Mileage Mk II" a block tread design in 4.00 x 19.
If you are having problems with rapid wear on the sidecar tire, possibly it is a reflection of the alignment rather than the particular tire model?

Sorry I didn't make myself clear . . . the sidecar tire is not the issue, but those on the bike. I'd just like some input on which might give the best mileage. I will PM Beemerchef, as he's certainly giving his rig as thorough test!
