I heard this on the radio on my way home from work today and thought I heard wrong, now it's confirmed it. Perhaps one of the most unique guitar talents is gone. :cry :cry Damn

Jff was a true and blue Canadian, His wife and kids were at the hospital as reported on 680 news this morning. where he sucumed to his battle with cancer.

On March 2, 2008 Healey died of cancer at St. Joseph's Health Centre in his home town of Toronto at the age of 41. [1] [3][4] His death came a month before the release of his new album, Mess of Blues, which would have been his first rock album in eight years. He will be missed there is no plans for the funeral yet , but his wife say's it will be private.

ah, that really sucks. i went to this thread thinking that maybe he was going to be the "other" big name act for the National. Saw Jeff open for Bonnie Raitt back in '91 or '92. He kicked butt, big time. Truly outstanding musician, surely going to be missed.

I would have liked to have seen him in concert, but sadly, I never had the opportunity to see him play live. Now I never will, you are fortunate to have had that chance.
