I had my dealer order a Givi top box and a SW Moto mount. What SW-Moto doesn't say is you can't use the BMW saddlebags as you lose the mounting boss. The SW Moto rack replaces the stock BMW rack including the saddlebag mounts. Appears the only way I can use the Givi is to mount the Givi mounting base to the stock BMW rack by drilling holes in the rack to mount the Givi base.
I really don't like the BMW top box. Has anyone run into this problem and found a better solution?

I have a Givi E350 top box on my ST. Since the ST already has a luggage rack, it's simple to mount a top box with one of Givi's adapter plates. That way there's no hardware at the side of the bike to get in the way of side cases and no drilling required.
An E250 adapter can be used to mount cases from the Givi Monokey range, or the Monolock range of top cases include an adapter plate. Both types of adapter plates feature wavy shaped backing plates that go under the OEM luggage rack. You bolt through the spaces of the OEM rack, so no drilling necessary. It is a very sturdy setup.
Here you can see the mounting plate on my ST.

I see Givi supplies supporting arms for the top case plate, are you using them?

They're not part of the Monolock setup, no need for anything else, it's sturdy as supplied.

Dave could you please post a pic of your bike with the Givi top box? What size is it too? I'm in the market.
Thanks!

Dave, what model are the side cases? They look awesome, as well as the decals.
I understand you got the Givi mounting hardware, can I ask how difficult it was to install them and where you got them?
I'm shopping around for a Givi Monokey set, or at least top case.

Givi V35 bags with PLX687 mount kit for the F800S/ST.
Mounting was easy except the stock wiring for the rear turn signals was too short to reach them after they were relocated. I pulled the rear wiring harness off to the left side so that it reached the signal, and fabricated short extension for the wires on the right side. Horsing around with the wiring probably took as long as installing the mounts. The whole job was done in under two hours.
Any bike shop should be able to order Givi stuff. There's a small accessory shop/KTM dealer here in town that opened an account with the Canadian Givi distributor just to get me the bags. Then after he had done all the extra paperwork he gave me 20% off list. Gotta love small towns.
