Laser exhaust on r1100rt

I have installed a duo tech exhaust and am having trouble getting the Laser chip in the mototronic without ruining it. Can I use the stock chip without harming the engine? I have tried it 200 miles and do not notice any overheating. Any advise would be greatly appreciated!

What kind of trouble are you having with the chip? Do you have one of the drivers with the hole in it for the FI unit housing? Snap On sells the tool you need.

There's a clip that holds the chip in place in the FI unit that you can just pull off to get the old chip off. If the new chip is an exact replacement, you can reuse the clip. If the new chip requires an adapter (which goes between the FI socket and the new chip), you may want to put a little piece of foam between the chip and the outer FI unit shell to keep the chip from vibrating loose and falling out of the socket. Doing so will cause your bike to come to a complete stop, immediately.
