After nearly 4 months...........:violin

My bike is finished. Picking it up Saturday evening. For those interested in the technical aspect here is what Tom discovered:

In brief, the transmission shift forks were bent and the shift drum was
damaged. It appeared that the transmission jumped out of gear hard, and
bent the shift drum. Once that was damaged, it looked like it jumped
gear a few times and damaged the forks more. The gears were fine, and
all bearings were well within spec. I replaced ALL seals and gaskets.

The actual initial cause of the damage was a loose ball joint pivot
bolt. The bolt had enough play to prevent the gears from engaging
fully, causing it to jump out of gear.

This is the first winter since I started riding that I haven't been able to ride. Now I know what all the FIBS go through. Time to fetch my gear out of the attic.

Snow, it works like this. And we are getting another 6 to 10 inches this evening.

Congratulations! Getting major bike work done and your ride ready for summer gives some utility to the snow season. :thumb

Actually that is the only way I knew it but as with all acronyms there are multiple definitions.

So Google to the rescue.

It also represents Finnish International Baccalaureate Society.

But since that ain't even PG-13 I kept looking.

Apparently folks from Wisconsin don't really like folks from Illinois. I guess every state tends to have a problem with other states. When I lived in Colorado everyone hated Texans.

Here in Jersey everyone hates NYers.

And in Wisconsin it appears they hate the F(#*$^ Illinois B%(#)*@ :hug

Can't we all just get along?

Back to the good news. I am riding on Saturday for the first time since October. :dance

Great to hear you're getting your bike back. Just in time for spring.:thumb

What did you do with all your "free" time you had the last 4 months from not riding? Besides arguing with drunks.:laugh

Flatlanders? Sure! We love 'em! Polluting our air so we have to buy the same crappy gas as they do, buying up all our lakefront properties so we have to live on smelly inland farms, eating all our custard, pasties, and brats, raping our women, pillaging, etc., etc. :hug

Good news Brian. Dress warm, though it's supposed to be near 40, I think.

Ride safe.
