Just got an email announcement that Garmin is releasing City Navigator North America NT for the Mac. The standard price will be $139 and GPS City is offering it at $109 when viewed in the shopping cart. Probably other retailers will be priced within that range.
Exact ship date should be within the next ten days.

Garmin has released a ton of Mac software recently. I just yesterday loaded the City Navigator 2008 update onto my Zumo from my Mac. I also updated the Zumo's firmware using the Mac version of Web Updater. It works very well, so far! :D (And the GUI looks a heck of a lot better than the Windows version.)

I wonder if Garmin is going to allow us to swap out our PC version dvd's for the new mac version? That would be the right thing to do! I've sent customer service an email asking and I'll post their response

Hello all,
Just contacted Garmin and asked if it was a FREE upgrade since I have only had my ZUMO for a couple of months. I was told that, if I send in the PC version, a MAC version will be sent for free. If I choose to keep the PC version, I can purchase the upgrade for $15 directly from Garmin..... Hope this helps...

Jeff, you completely rock!
And as soon as Snoone finishes watching the Martha Stewart Show (it's a snow day here in the northeast) he'll be happy as all get out. :whistle

Wonder if the "Upgrade" is actually the full version for the Mac or how that will work when keeping my old version.
I had to purchase Windows for my Mac in order to create my routes. Makes for strange bedfellows that way. What's wrong with this picture?

Do you have a contact you spoke to at Garmin.. As usual when I called to get the same info, the guy looked at me like I had 3 eyes.

I downloaded the beta's of this a few weeks back. Project Bobcat (the mapping software) has a nice interface, however my only beef with it is you have to zoom in REALLY close to see secondary and smaller roads. You also have to use a second application to download the maps. It is not as convenient as the PC version where you can download maps, routes, waypoints all in one fell swoop. I hope they can address this aspect of it in coming updates.
Cheers!

Hmm, I noticed that too. We should email Garmin with a suggestion or two to help it improve the software - they likely will appreciate the feedback.

I never could get the "Bobcat" downloaded. I wonder if its because I have OSX version 10.3.9 instead of 10.4? Or possibly I'm just a boob when it comes to using a computer for something other than E-mail?
I've got the 2720 and it comes pre-loaded with maps. Do I even want this product?:doh
TIA

Update for Mac
Message Body:
I purchased my Zumo 550 not knowing Mapsource did not work with my Mac.
I have recently found that you are coming out with an update for us Mac
users. Is this a free upgrade that I can get a copy of so I might use it
with my Mac? Thank you, Jeff
